Bruce Fraley is seeking reelection to the office of Mayor, City of Berea. Voting for Mayor, City of Berea will be in the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. I respectfully ask for your vote and support.
Bruce Fraley, a Berea native, is an honors graduate of Berea Community High School, and a Cum Laude graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, with a dual major in Political Science and Sociology. He began a career in public service as a Cooperative Education student while an undergraduate, and served with the Social Security Administration for thirty four years, with the past twenty seven years experience as a District Manager. Fraley retired from federal service in September 2017, and sees his service as Mayor as a continuation of a successful career in public service. Fraley stated that “public service is always about doing what is right and in the best interest of the people, and serving my hometown has been a natural progression. I loved my job with Social Security, but it has been nice to focus on the people in the city where I grew up and where I plan to live for years to come.”
Bruce Fraley comes from a family with a strong history of working for the betterment of our community. His late parents, Bettye and Bruce Fraley, owned and operated Finnell Furniture Store for thirty eight years. His grandfather, Bill Finnell, was a two term Berea City Councilman, served two terms on the Planning and Zoning Commission, and served for over 20 years as a founding member and Chairman of the Berea Industrial Development Corporation. “Many people remember that my grandfather, Mr. Finnell, was instrumental in bringing industry and large employers to Berea beginning in the 1950’s through the early 1970’s. I was always inspired by his commitment to bettering our community and his dedication to transforming our city’s economy and improving the quality of life for all Bereans. I have been working to build upon his legacy as a member of our City Council and, in pursuing the office of Mayor, hope to lead Berea into a new era by growing our economy, strengthening our infrastructure, and by improving the quality of life for our citizens. Our city has tremendous potential and we are blessed with many assets, including our industrial property, Interstate 75, our proximity to Lexington, and the presence of outstanding educational institutions. Together, we can reach our potential. Our people are our best asset and our strength is in each other. It would be a great honor if to continue serving as mayor of our great city.”
